Kyosho 18036S-B 118 Toyota Century Silver – Metro Hobbies

The British tank destroyer Achilles was created as a conversion of the American M10 by installing a new 17-pounder anti-tank gun in the turret exposed from above. The first copies were produced in 1943. Due to the sloped armor, the vehicle was difficult to reach for German cannons with a caliber below 50mm. However, its main advantage on the battlefield was high mobility, reliability, as well as a powerful gun that was able to fight the German Pz.Kpfw IV and V, and in favorable circumstances also the Pz.Kpfw VI. The Achilles was powered by a 12-cylinder GM6046 engine, which gave it a good power-to-weight ratio. During World War II, about 1,100 vehicles of this type were built.
